Meet Lady (left) and her mother, Sassy (right). These two beautiful horses are permanent residents at the sanctuary and have a story of resilience and love to share with the world. Lady was the first foal ever born on our farm, turning 15 this May, while Sassy, once a young Craigslist rescue, is now 18. Once thrown away and destined to end up in the slaughter pipeline, Sassy enjoys every day to the fullest. After a run in with a rattlesnake, Lady is a little more cautious, but just as kind.
